August 25 - August 31. Still chugging, and setting a goal to finish out the year on time (aka the whole year by the end of the first week of January. #prayersforalessia).
What went on this week: This week Max and I had some really good time together. It was just us hanging out like old times, he didn't have camp, so we filled the days with baking, play dates, reading, and playing. It was still really nice out so we played on his friend's outdoor playset a couple of days, and he climbed a rock wall (left page, bottom row), which I cried over, because not too long ago, the little boy I knew would have took one look at that thing and ran away. I'm so proud of the little kid he is becoming, it's incredible to watch. On my own time I filmed
my first youtube video, which honestly isn't that great at all, but it's something I considered (and still kind of am) doing as a side project, so I'm glad I did that first video just to take a look at what editing entails and such. Once I have my own space, it could possibly become a more frequent activity.
About this spread: I had a lot of photos of Max this week, so I printed an extra 3x4 than I normally would, because I couldn't get rid of any of them. He's so smiley in all of them, and the photos of the playground just show how brave and daring he has become, which again, makes me feel so proud of him. I kept the cards neutral because there was a lot of color, especially greens and wood colors in the photos.
Details + interesting tidbits: This was a
monthly bests week, so I jotted down a few things that were going on in both mine and Max's life at the time. I also used one of my stamps to create a patterned card (left page, middle row, left slot) with
ABM's cement colored ink to match the neutrals in the spread.
Photo breakdown: phone photos: 9 // canon t3 photos: 3 // polaroid photos: 0. Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.
Materials, supplies, and tools I used: midnight core kit, design A pocket pages, studio calico monthly kits: poet society (heart card, 'you are the best' sticker); the underground (about us card), ABM cement ink, less is more stamp, fiskars corner rounder, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, hp everyday photo paper, smash date stamp, zig writer for vellum marker in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards).
