hey y'all!

I'm Alessia, a 25-year-old writer from Long Island, NY whose heart is still mainly in Scranton, PA (where I went to college). I'm the assistant editor at POPSUGAR Moms — previously an intern at BuzzFeed — but used to be a nanny to a beautiful little boy named Max and the sweetest little princess named Skylar, who filled my days with love and joy for two-and-a-half years. I have a handful of a pup named Lucas — who unfortunately lives with my parents — but he's so cute it hurts so he still makes plenty of appearances here and on social media. I love coffee (which I make painfully obvious on instagram), flexible fabric band-aids, all of the lip balms, and New Girl. My favorite time of day used to be 7:04am when the non-traffic-lighted intersection by my house on the way to work was free of cars and easy to turn onto, but now it's probably 8:42am, when I come up the stairs from Penn Station and get to see the city for the first time every weekday morning. I frequently speak in movie or Friends quotes, and if you're not going to join in, I promise you'll find me annoying. From March 8, 2015 - March 7, 2016 I am trying to complete 26 things in my 26th year — after some success with last year's 25 things — and though I ended it earlier this year, I was working on my photography skills with a new photo project every thirty days, which you can check out here. To learn even more about my day to day life, follow along with my Project Life album, which I used to post every week, but life got in the way, so it's now sporadic.

LESS IS MORE BLOG

I started this blog in the summer of 2012 as a way to document all of my DIY and cooking endeavors, but I found myself wanting to talk about more: my life, beauty things that I think I know about (but probably don't), stuff that I love, my job, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. So as of May 2013 I started sitting at my computer whenever I found the time and now I write about whatever I want, whenever I want, and it brings me joy. My only wish for this blog is to make other people happy. I love reading blogs, getting inspired, and using my creative abilities whenever I can, so even if I only ever have one reader, my job is done if they like what they read or learn something fun. I look forward to posting more and more and looking back on these words later in life as a sort of documentation of these years of my life. Can't stop, won't stop.
