project life weeks 28 - 32.

July 6 - August 9.What went on during these weeks: Summer was truly in full swing, which meant going to outdoor bars, eating al fresco, drinking iced coffee (and coronas), sitting by the pool, and devouring strawberries by the pound.Details + interesting tidbits: Summer sun equals great lighting, so the spreads with outdoor photos were so clean and bright, which made me happy (especially since there's snow out my window right now). I have been using tons and tons of journaling cards in the spreads I didn't have enough photos for, and rather than stressing me out, I'm actually enjoying those. I also decided to start including my monthly train passes (week thirty one), because they're full of color and add a bit more of the mundane details of my life to the album.Photo Breakdown: W28: phone photos: 8 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W29: phone photos: 9 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W30: phone photos: 11 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W31: phone photos: 8 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W32: phone photos: 10 // DSLR photos: 1 // polaroid photos: 0. | Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.Materials Used: PL Core Kits: midnight edition & seafoam edition, PL Add-On Kits: heidi swapp foil kit & Studio Calico PL kits, smash date stamp, fiskars corner rounder, tiny attacher stapler, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, zig photo signature pen in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards), canon selphy wireless printer, canon selphy ink + paper kit.

project life 2015 // weeks 23 - 27.

May 18 - July 5.What went on during these weeks: I spent some time with my nuggets, remembered how much I hate the city during the summer, and celebrated my best friend and roommate's 24th birthday for a full week. I went to SF for an editor training week with all of my coworkers, and finally got to meet my work wife, Kate, who normally works remote from Chicago. I saw all of my college housemates in DC for a weekend, which was long overdue, then celebrated my mom's birthday and Fourth of July in the first week of super hot weather we had.Details + interesting tidbits: I'm pretty pleased with the way all of these spreads turned out. They all had a good color scheme that tied journal cards to the photo colors, especially week 27. The whole right side of that spread was American themed for the Fourth of July, and I love the way it turned out. A bunch of these weeks didn't have the normal amount of photos, so it was kind of fun trying to fit in additional journaling cards to go with the themes.Photo Breakdown: W23: phone photos: 12 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W24: phone photos: 9 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W25: phone photos: 11 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W26: phone photos: 7 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W27: phone photos: 9 // DSLR photos: 2 // polaroid photos: 0. | Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.Materials Used: PL Core Kits: midnight edition & seafoam edition, PL Add-On Kits: heidi swapp foil kit, Studio Calico PL kits, smash date stamp, fiskars corner rounder, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, zig photo signature pen in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards), canon selphy wireless printer, canon selphy ink + paper kit.

project life 2015 // weeks 17 - 22.

April 13 - May 17.What went on during these weeks: I started my new job in NYC, caught up with some BuzzFeed friends, moved into a new apartment with my friends Katherine and Meagan (which we call the East MAK Inn), celebrated Max's fourth birthday, and had a housewarming BBQ with all of our friends. Details + interesting tidbits: Each week was a little bit different, but since I'm in beast mode trying to get everything up-to-date, things were kept simple. Most weeks in this grouping had a few less photos than normal because while I was starting up at the new job and moving into my apartment, photo-taking started to go by the wayside. I used extra 6x4 cards and a bunch of see-through pockets — I actually kind of liked how it looked most of the time.Photo Breakdown: W17: phone photos: 7 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W18: phone photos: 11 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W19: phone photos: 7 // DSLR photos: 1 (sky photo credit)  // polaroid photos: 0. W20: phone photos: 10 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W21: phone photos: 6 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. W22: phone photos: 10 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. | Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.Materials Used: PL Core Kits: midnight edition & seafoam edition, PL Add-On Kits: heidi swapp foil kit, Studio Calico PL kits, smash date stamp, fiskars corner rounder, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, zig photo signature pen in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards), canon selphy wireless printer, canon selphy ink + paper kit.

project life 2015 // week sixteen.

April 6 - April 12.What went on this week: This was my first week at Popsugar in NYC, and it was an awesome first week. I started up #alessiacommutes again, and started making plans for moving at the end of the month.Details + interesting tidbits: Not many photos this week, so I used a bunch of black, white, and gold cards on the righthand side.Photo Breakdown: phone photos: 9 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.

Materials Used: PL Core Kits: midnight edition ("hello there" card), PL Add-On Kits: heidi swapp foil kit (love, polka dots), Studio Calico PL kits: galileo (week card); fairground ("loving it" card); lisse street ("you can do this" card), heidi swapp date stamp, fiskars corner rounder, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, zig photo signature pen in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards), canon selphy wireless printer, canon selphy ink + paper kit.

project life 2015 // week fifteen.

April 6 - April 12.What went on this week: This week I was in San Francisco for job training, which was so fun. I got to meet all of the editors who work out there, and check out a bunch of cool SF spots. My best friend Mathew's birthday was the day I got back, so we had a fire in his backyard, and on Sunday, my two best friends and I signed a lease on an apartment. Big. Week.Details + interesting tidbits: I ate a lot of amazing food on my trip, so I kid of highlighted that on the entire righthand page, and stuck with a typical-of-me color scheme on the other side.Photo Breakdown: phone photos: 11 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.

Materials Used: PL Core Kits: seafoam edition (week card), Studio Calico PL kits: camelot (explore, map); far far away (triangles); carolina moon (about you card), less is more stamps, heidi swapp date stamp, fiskars corner rounder, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, zig photo signature pen in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards), canon selphy wireless printer, canon selphy ink + paper kit.

project life 2015 // week fourteen.

March 30 - April 5.What went on this week: This was my last week with the nuggets, which was bittersweet, but it was a great week. I took Max for a haircut where he let the hairdresser use the buzzer for the first time (which for him is a huge deal), and there were a lot of snuggles and kisses between all three of us, which is my fave. My friends and I tried bringing lunch to the beach on a sunny Saturday, and that ended up as eating lunch in the car and taking selfies because it was freezing. We tried.Details + interesting tidbits: I used the journaling cards to talk about Max and Sky, which isn't that different from normal, but because it was our last full week together, I had a lot to say. I liked the pink, blue, and yellow in all of the photos, so that color scheme for the cards worked out so well.Photo Breakdown: phone photos: 11 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.Materials Used: PL Core Kits: midnight edition (week card), Studio Calico PL kits: odyssey ("I can't even" card); cirque ("remember this" sticker); far far away ("&" card), lisse street ("story of" card), less is more stamps, elise joy stamps, fiskars corner rounder, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, smash date stamp, zig photo signature pen in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards), canon selphy wireless printer, canon selphy ink + paper kit.

project life 2015 // week thirteen.

March 23 - March 29.What went on this week: This week I went to TBS with my friend (for the second time in five days), spent time with my nuggets and taught skylar how to smile for a selfie (see below left), and babysat for them on saturday night, when Max walked down the stairs in pajama pants and no shirt like a little teenager — threenagers are a thing.Details + interesting tidbits: Nothing matched this week, I wasn't totally into it, but clearly I'm far too behind in both creating my pages and posting them to be picky.Photo Breakdown: phone photos: 11 // DSLR photos: 0 // polaroid photos: 0. Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.Materials Used: Studio Calico PL kits: odyssey (glasses and week cards); lisse street ("everyday life" card); cirque ("hello," card), project life 3x4 grid card, less is more stamps, fiskars corner rounder, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, smash date stamp, zig photo signature pen in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards), canon selphy wireless printer, canon selphy ink + paper kit.

project life 2015 // week twelve.

March 16 - March 22.What went on this week: This week I had done a lot for the blog, including s'mores bars and elephant bookends. I also got hired at popsugar, which meant savoring the moments with my nuggets even more than I ever have. I went to the long island craft beer festival with my friends, which was a gift for my birthday, and skylar turned six months.Details + interesting tidbits: Since Sky turned six months this week, I used that cute balloon card, and because I had a bunch of pretty DSLR photos of things I made and the flowers I bought, I immediately went looking for the "I like pretty things" card. I kept things kind of neutral, as usual.Photo Breakdown: phone photos: 8 // DSLR photos: 3 // polaroid photos: 0. Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.Materials Used: PL Core Kits: seafoam edition (week card), Studio Calico PL kits: odyssey ("3" and calendar cards); carolina moon ("pretty things" card); far far away (balloons card), less is more stamps, fiskars corner rounder, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, smash date stamp, zig photo signature pen in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards), canon selphy wireless printer, canon selphy ink + paper kit.

March 22, 2015

project life 2015 // week eleven.

March 9 - March 15.What went on this week: I had a job interview on Monday morning, and then spent the rest of the week with the kiddos. I tried to get a bunch of stuff planned for the blog, and made some insane zucchini chips.Details + interesting tidbits: Most of the photos had really good lighting, which is not something that usually works out for me. I kept the cards in a blue, yellow, grey-ish theme, and let the natural light speak for itself.Photo Breakdown: phone photos: 10 // DSLR photos: 1 // polaroid photos: 0. Taken by me, the self-timer, and shutter remotes.Materials Used: Studio Calico PL kits: odyssey ("said no one ever" card); the underground ("let's hold hands" card); walden ("these moments" card); park ave (wooden banner); camelot ("today" card); far far away (week card), elise joy stamps, less is more stamps, xyron create-a-sticker, fiskars corner rounder, fiskars paper trimmer, staz-on jet black ink, smash date stamp, zig photo signature pen in black (on photos), zig writer marker in black (on journal cards), canon selphy wireless printer, canon selphy ink + paper kit.
